Actually, its a bengali recipe which cooked in steamed water and served with mustard sauce. Hilsha fish recipe is a very tasty and yummy that you won't forget to taste again. So, I have tried to share here the best and actual Bhapa islih or hilsha fish curry in Bengali process.Ingredients
Hilsha Fish (500 gm)
Mustard Paste
1/2 teaspoon Red Chili powder
1/3 cup Mustard Oil (80 ml)
1/4 cup Mustard paste water
4 pcs Green Chili
Salt (according to taste)

- 1 tablespoon White Mustard seed
- 3/2 tablespoon Black Mustard Seed
- 2 pcs Green Chili
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Red Chili powder
1/3 cup Mustard Oil (80 ml)
1/4 cup Mustard paste water
4 pcs Green Chili
Salt (according to taste)

1. Take 1 tablespoon White Mustard seed, 3/2 tablespoon Black Mustard Seed,2 pcs Green Chili,1/2 teaspoon Salt and paste them in blender finely.2. Take processed Hilsha Fish (without head and tail) and marinate it with mustard paste, 1/3 cup muatard oil,turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt. 3. Keep it on rest for 15 minutes.
4. 15 minutes later, Marinate it again.Ensure that the spices are sticked to every fish slices and keep it on rest for another 10 minutes.
5. Take a saucepan(small) and put the fish slices in it. 6. Put the 4 green chilis and cover it with a lid.Put it in a quite big pan and pour water in the pan for steam. Notice that the water level will be at the bottom of the saucepan. 7. Put of the lid and cook the fish in the steam for 30 minutes on low mideum heat. 8. Bring out from the pan and serve the fish curry ' ilish bhapa ' with your family and relatives.
